Meghan Markle e o príncipe Harry anunciam abandono da vida real

O duque e a duquesa de Sussex anunciaram, em comunicado oficial diculgado no Instagram, a vontade de abdicarem dos cargos de "membros sénior" da família real e de se tornarem "financeiramente independentes".

"Depois de muitos meses de reflexão e discussões internas, decidimos iniciar um processo de transição, este ano, de formar um novo papel, progressista, nesta instituição", lê-se no texto publicado.

O príncipe Harry e Meghan Markle pretendem distribuir o tempo entre o "Reino Unido e os EUA, sempre honrando o dever para com a Rainha".

"Este equilíbrio geográfico vai-nos permitir criar o nosso filho [Archie] com respeito pela tradição real, na qual ele nasceu, e, ao mesmo tempo, vamos ter espaço para nos focarmos no próximo capítulo, incluindo no lançamento da nossa nova entidade de caridade", anunciam os duques de Sussex, que garantem estar "entusiasmados" com os próximos tempos.
