Jessica Chastain: "Um produtor espancou-me no corredor"

A atriz, de 40 anos, aproveitou a gala anual Elle Women, em Hollywood, para denunciar publicamente um episódio de violência pelo qual passou: "Um produtor chegou a espancar-me enquanto passava por ele no corredor. [...] Não queria dizer algo que pudesse ser interpretado de maneira errada ou ofender alguém e, por muito tempo, não disse nada."

Segundo a estrela norte-americana, estas situações só deixaram de acontecer quando começou a impor-se: "Deixei de me fazer invisível ou pequena, e para meu choque e felicidade, a minha carreira não se esgotou."

Com esta revelação, Jessica Chastain junta-se ao leque de atrizes que alegam ter sido vítimas de assédio ao longo da carreira.

Recorde-se que, logo após as primeiras acusações de assédio contra o produtor Harvey Weinstein, a atriz fez questão de se manifestar, através do Twitter. "Fui avisada desde o início. As histórias estavam por toda a parte", escreveu na publicação.
